WVC Bass Warriors Co-Angler of the Month – Ethan Weaver

WVC Bass Warriors Co-Angler of the Month – Ethan Weaver

The Wabash Valley College Bass Warriors Team would like to introduce our co-angler of the month, Ethan Weaver. Ethan is from Scottsburg, Indiana and is the son of Dave Weaver and Melissa Grasch. He is a freshman at Wabash Valley College and is currently majoring in gunsmithing.

Ethan fished five events for us his freshman season. He started his college career in an Abu Garcia Major League Fishing College event on the Detroit River. Ethan and teammate Drew Fromm weighed in four keepers that day good for 9 lbs. 2 oz. and a 55th place finish. His next event was the Wabash Valley College Collegiate Bass Invitational held on East Fork Lake in Olney, Illinois. Ethan paired up with Lane Bradley for this event. The duo had three keepers that day for 9.46 lbs. and finished 10th out of 27 teams. Lane and Ethan had big bass on the day with a 5.94 lb. largemouth. His next stop was at Vandalia Lake in the McKendree Fall Invitational. Ethan fished with Jonah Potts and while they caught many short fish on the day, they did not manage to bring a keeper to the scales. The next event for Ethan was the Association of College Anglers AFTCO Open on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Arkansas. Weaver teamed up with Isaac Irvin to catch 10.49 lbs. earning them 49th place out of 216 boats. They were the top boat for the WVC Bass Warriors in that event. Ethan's final event on the season was Lake of the Ozarks with the Abu Garcia Major League Fishing College series. He and Irvin paired up once again and had four keepers good for 7 lbs. 4 oz. That weight was good for 50th out of 149 boats fishing that day.

When asked what his favorite lake was to fish on, Weaver replied, wherever they are biting. Outside of fishing, Ethan enjoys hunting. His highlight for the fall season was the Lake Dardanelle tournament where he and Isaac Irvin weighed 10.49 lbs. to finish 49th out of 216 boats. We look forward to having Ethan back on the team his sophomore season.
