Wabash Valley College Bass Coach, Todd Gill, is excited to announce the signing of Delaney Platt for the 2024–2025 collegiate bass season. Platt signed on Sunday, July 28th at Wabash Valley College.
Delaney is the daughter of Rodney and Dawn Platt of Braceville, Illinois. She is a 2023 graduate of Gardner South Wilmington High School. Delaney began fishing competitively during her sophomore year and had much success competing on the IHSA, ICASSTT, IBN, and MLF Series while in high school. She was a two-time IHSA Sectional Champion. She had wins at Braidwood Lake and Cal Sag, finished 4th out of 90 boats at Lake of Egypt, 7th out of 60 boats at Lake Springfield, and was a Bassmaster National Championship Qualifier. This past year, Delaney competed for Southwestern Michigan College and finished 48th at Kentucky Lake out of over 200 teams and 8th out of 196 teams at Saginaw Bay qualifying for the Bassmaster College National Championship.
Delaney's favorite lakes to fish on are Braidwood, Springfield, and Kentucky Lake. Outside of fishing, Platt enjoys spending time with her friends and family and really enjoys camping as well. Delaney's fishing goals for this upcoming season are to gain as much experience and knowledge as possible from traveling and competing and apply that knowledge in future tournaments. Delaney's course of study is pre-med. She is excited about her opportunity to be a part of the Wabash Valley College Bass Team.
