Wabash Valley College Bass Team Signs Tyler Curry of Mt. Vernon Illinois

Wabash Valley College Bass Coach, Todd Gill, is excited to announce the signing of Tyler Curry for the 2026–2027 collegiate bass season. Curry signed on Monday, October 27th at Wabash Valley College.

Tyler is the son of Chris and Erika Curry of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He is a senior at Mt. Vernon Township High School. He competes in the ICASSTT Series in Illinois and has also competed in some Major League Fishing High School and Bassmaster High School events. His best finishes include 1st place on Lake Shelbyville, 1st place on Rend Lake, and 1st place on Washington County. Tyler started fishing when he was four years old and has been fishing competitively for the last five years. His planned major is electrical distribution systems. His goals for fishing in college include, qualifying for the Bassmaster College National Championship, consistently finishing in the top 1/3 of the tournament field, and winning at least one tournament. Curry's favorite lake to fish on is Kinkaid Lake. Outside of fishing, Tyler enjoys hunting. He would like to thank Coach Scott Shaw, his parents, Humberto Gonzalez, Ed and Blake Elliott, and Mike Russell for helping him in his progression in the sport. Curry is excited about his opportunity to be a part of the Wabash Valley College Bass Team.
