CARBONDALE – The Baseball Warriors of Wabash Valley College (WVC) continued to buzzsaw through their competition over the weekend, claiming the Region XXIV championship Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors defeated Kaskaskia 12-6 to earn the league crown, following up on 7-0 a victory over the Blue Angles Saturday. Friday saw Wabash knock Lake Land College out of the tourney with an 11-0 shutout.

WVC began the tourney last week, after the Warrior Men topped Southwestern Illinois College in both games of a doubleheader.

The win in the championship game marks the twenty-third consecutive victory for Wabash Valley.
